Our Story

This is a page about us, Jason and Tina, and how our restaurant Isaac’s Way came to be. Many of you will remember that we were once franchisee operators of Rye’s Deli & Pub.

Yes, we started out owning a franchise, and for five years we worked as partners with Brian and Linda Monteith (Tina’s parents) building up our clientele and reputation as friendly restauranteurs.  After 5 years, we decided to open our own restaurant.  Isaac’s Way Restaurant and Bar was born on November 2005 and the new décor and new menu were energizing.  We are proud to now have a place of our own, to be able to serve our loyal customers (and our newest customers) with our own food and a fresh new vibe.  Such an exciting change for our family!

After another year, Brian and Linda decided it was time to retire from the restaurant business, so we (Jason and Tina) counted up our pennies and handed them over. We are still there today, greeting you with friendly smiles. Jason is often busy on the floor meeting and greeting people, while Tina is there part-time and works behind the scenes from home, while volunteering at Connaught Street School, helping to create a living playground, a wonderful green space for the downtown community.

It has now been nine years since we moved into 73 Carleton Street. We love what we do. We love being able to offer our community a fun place to hang out with friends and family. Once in awhile we run into an old friend from our hometown – Jason grew up in Dalhousie, NB, and Tina’s roots are upriver in potato country. We have lived in Fredericton for 20 years, so this is really our home now. We both feel that this is a great place to raise a family!

Living in central NB we feel lucky to be so close to all of nature’s east coast wonders. Each summer we explore these beautiful parks and hike the trails whenever we can. The ocean beckons to us every year, so if we are missing in action you’ll know where to find us!

Oh, and did you hear? Brian and Linda (Tina’s parents) found retirement quite boring, so they opened a great restaurant on the north side called Jives. You should look it up!

More exciting news, on the Isaac’s Way front… we are proud to announce that our long serving waitress and floor manager Tabatha, along with our creative kitchen manager and head chef Jesse, are both working their way up the ladder and have begun buying shares in the company.

Tabatha Smith - top notch service with a smile!

That’s right, we are forming a partnership with two amazing people that just so happen to love this crazy restaurant as much as we do.

We would love to hear from you, our oh, so important customer. Tell us how your meal was, describe the service that you received, and offer us your creative suggestions and honest comments. Isaac’s Way Restaurant will continue to grow and evolve with each and every bit of advice that you give, because it is you, the customer, that matters most. Oh, and if you send us your comments this month, you could win a $50 gift certificate!
