Isaac's Way donates $400 to Devon Middle School

With money in hand, Tina LeJeune recently visited three Fredericton schools and had the pleasure of meeting some of their dedicated educators, and even a few talented students. The seventh art auction at Isaac’s Way, which was held over the summer, raised $1250 for music lessons for kids.  One year ago, Isaac’s Way helped out three schools on the south side.  This time, the restaurant owners decided to offer it to the north side schools.

In October, Tina was welcomed at the door of Nashwaaksis Middle School by music director Susan Ross, guitar instructor César Morales, and a few excited students. They brought her to their music room. There were many instruments, music playing, and it certainly felt like this room was alive with creativity! The choir director Annette Stehouwer joined us with a big smile, and we gathered for a few photos and a hand shake. Isaac’s Way donated $350 from the art auction earnings, helping three students at the school.

Devon Middle School also had big smiles and handshakes for Tina in October! Isaac’s Way sponsored two band students for the year at this school by donating $400 of the proceeds from the summer auction. Principal Aleida Fox gladly accepted the envelope with many thanks to the artists, and praise for all that the restaurant does for the community.

The third donation of $500 went to the largest school on the north side, Leo Hayes High School. Jennifer Keating was very pleased to accept our donation (Jennifer is the photographer in this case) and pleased to be able to help Katherine Moller and her after school violin students, since much of their annual fee is usually paid with fundraising efforts by the students. In the photo are a few of the students in the group, showing off their beautiful string instruments.
