Miguelina was born and raised near the mountains of Cuba. She studied theatre at the National School of Arts in Havana. In the early 90’s Miguelina moved to Cartagena de Indias, Colombia as a member of an acting company. For 3 years she performed and taught at the School of Fine Arts and later brought her teaching skills to a private college in Cartagena, where she worked as a teacher for nearly 10 years.
Miguelina now happily lives in Fredericton with her husband Alejandro and their newborn son, Teo. Her passions include painting, cooking, dancing, and interior decorating.
This painting “Eternity” was a joy to create. It is a reflection of the female psychological and biological cycles in life, and the beauty of it. Half of the money Miguelina raises with the auction sale of this original painting will be for summer dance camps for kids, and the other half will be sent back home to help her family living in Cuba where it is greatly needed.

Miguelina, congratulations on becoming a mother this past year. Your large painting speaks volumes. The jewels you added give it more beauty, and I always love that your work is textured and colourful. Thank you for the painting!
