		<description><![CDATA[Monique MacNaughton has lived in Fredericton since 1978 and wears many creative hats - comics creator, cartoonist, illustrator, graphic artist, self-publisher, and of late, painting and pyrography. This new piece, "2012: Dragon Year" is a combination of paint and stain over woodburned line art on craft-grade plywood. Much of the influence comes from the clean lines of Asian art, which are burned on the natural medium of wood, the grain of which also shows through.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[his particular piece is not my usual colour combination, it's a little "risky" because of the bright green and yellows, but the dark colours play nicely off of them. I wanted to leave my comfort zone of blues and black paintings and do something brighter, and I love the way it turned out. It was also my first painting using netting, it was a little tricky to use, but creates great texture.]]></description>
