		<description><![CDATA[his particular piece is not my usual colour combination, it's a little "risky" because of the bright green and yellows, but the dark colours play nicely off of them. I wanted to leave my comfort zone of blues and black paintings and do something brighter, and I love the way it turned out. It was also my first painting using netting, it was a little tricky to use, but creates great texture.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Monique MacNaughton has lived in Fredericton since 1978 and wears many creative hats - comics creator, cartoonist, illustrator, graphic artist, self-publisher, and of late, painting and pyrography. This new piece "Ghost Stripes" is a combination of paint and stain over woodburned line art on craft-grade plywood. Much of the influence comes from the clean lines of Asian art, which are burned on the natural medium of wood, the grain of which also shows through.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Felting, a process that is thousands of years old, is thought to be one of the earliest know textiles. Wool fibers, which consist of unidirectional scales, shrink when stimulated by friction, permanently binding together. Through the wet felting process where fibers are agitated by hand, with hot soapy water acting as a lubricant, Alexandra layers wool to achieve a painterly effect.]]></description>
