Firestorm 14x11 Jeanne Cowan
Jeanne Cowan has made her home in the beautiful province of New Brunswick, Canada since 1966. After high school graduation, she completed the necessary training and entered the field of hairdressing. She enjoyed a twenty year career as a hairdresser and owner of Burton Hairstyling, then retired to pursue other interests and avenues. Jeanne has always been artistic and creative.
She is fascinated with art, specifically painting, and has immersed herself in studying the psychology of art, colour theory, composition principles and technique.
Artist Statement
My work is inspired by my life experiences. I like to paint the land, water and all of its inhabitants as a way of preserving the beauty and my own sense of wonder. I paint Faces as an ongoing series that represents the woman in transition. My abstracts are based on exploration and creative freedom. I have recently been experimenting with different techniques and adding textural elements to my acrylic paintings. I strive to create work that is emotive and sensitive.
Thank you Jeanne for donating 100% to help kids-in-need! To view more of Jeanne’s work, you can visit her website.

I love the combination of colours. I also like the abstracted nature of the picture, the way in which it is suggestive without being too detailed.
