I Love To Eat

by Tabatha

I love to eat. The experience is always different but usually enjoyable. Your favourite cereal tastes different at the kitchen table, outside in the yard, or in the morning when you crawl out of the tent to the picnic table. They are always “Cheerios” yet every bowl can be unique depending on the why, where, and how of the meal. The degree of oral satisfaction gained from each food experience depends on your commitment.

Slow food, fast food, mom’s food, organic food, frozen food, fresh food …you name it whatever you like…food is wonderful. How satisfying it will be is up to you.

As I weighed all of the options available for commitment, Food came close to the top. You could argue that food is a necessity for life. I wouldn’t deny it however this is the point where your commitment comes in.

Admittedly my open adoration for food is dangerous as I am leaving myself available for all sorts of ridicule. Allow me to explain, it is not the mere consumption of food that thrills me but the wonderment of the blending of flavours that makes food a feast. A peanut butter sandwich on white bread is great but on toasted grain with a mashed banana it becomes heavenly. It is the environment in which you choose to savour your meal that makes it special. Your favourite treat will taste different eaten over the sink or sitting in your porch swing.

Create a fresh approach to fulfilling your basic need. Grab yourself a new spice and allow yourself the time to savour the taste. It is up to you to transform ingestion into an ultimate dining experience.

Stimulate your taste buds with all of the variety of cuisine that you can imagine. Sample, nibble, sip and enjoy all the pleasures your new commitment will be sure to bring.

    Tabatha,

Wouldn’t it be great to have a tapas size serving of everything on the menu??

I don’t know how you would do it so that everything would stay hot and/or cold, and there would definitely have to be water, wine and rolls to “cleanse the palate”–but it would solve the problem of trying to decide between all the great choices on the menu!

That is my greatest dilemma–and then, Jesse comes up with a new surprising combination (I am in *love* with the fresh asperagus/cheddar omelet), and there are more decisions to be made.

The other challenge is tryng to eat healthy nutritious choices, even when I crave fries. I usually go for the boring two poached eggs on Sunday morning because the yummier, absolutely succulent breakfasts inspire me to nap all day.

Not that that is such a bad thing, but there is my Dad’s dog that needs walking…

  2. You said it Tabby, its all about the food! I Have rediscovered my love of cooking since I moved to Cape Breton, but often we have those cravings for meals made by Jesse, my kingdom for a chicken curry with apple chutney. Or a bowl of Laurie’s mullagatawny and a mandarin salad.
