Lindsey MacKay’s love of creativity was inspired by her grandmother who was a painter and potter. Throughout her life she has been enrolled in classes for the fine arts and painting. Lindsey graduated as a Graphic Designer in 1991, and as a student her designs were used for businesses and exhibitions.
Recently she has had the time to create more paintings and has been successful selling her work in local establishments, to friends, and online. Lindsey enjoys working with oils, acrylics, and watercolours. Most of her art is created mixing strokes with both palate knife and brush for a modern, contemporary-impressionistic, or realistic work of art. Most of her paintings involve using heavy textures and metallic paint to add sculpture and depth to her paintings.
Artist Statement
The inspiration for my painting “In Harmony for Green” came from concerns relating to our environment. I visualized the trees or nature standing as one in unity, branch to branch, to convey a message of the radical changes that need to be made in our environment to maintain harmony on Earth for future generations to enjoy.
