Metamorphosis 20x16 framed painting by Barbara Heans
Originally from Saint John and Hampton, Barbara Heans has been interested in artwork from the time she was five. Barbara has been painting steadily since she was 25, with most of her watercolours and oils hanging in the homes of relatives and friends. This step into the public domain is to support the very worthwhile cause of helping children develop their talents in art.
Barbara has written and illustrated one book for children and is currently working on a second and third. She has recently collaborated with a fellow artist, Helen McKinnon, to jointly create ‘live art’ in the window of M&T Deli. She also works in stained glass.
“Metamorphosis” was a creative challenge. The idea of flowers morphing into ballerinas was an interesting concept and fun to paint. She hopes a ‘dancer’ or a ‘gardener’ may take a fancy to the work, or someone interested in a piece to generate conversation, thereby enabling young artists to follow their own creative paths. Barbara thanks you for considering the purchase of this painting and hopes you enjoy it. She is donating 100% of the winning bid.

What a wonderful concept merging the fluidity and grace of ballet with the beauty and rhythm of the wind and flowers. This painting flows from the real to fantasy effortlessly, with the colours blending in such beautiful harmony. What a talent you are Barb!
