Artist Statement – Ruby Allan
Mostly self taught, I paint in oils/acrylics. For the last 3 years I have studied under Glenn Priestley and presently continue to do so. He has inspired me and has given me the confidence to showcase my artwork. This summer I was chosen as “Artist In Residence”, emerging artist, in the casemates at Officers’ Square which proved to be a great experience. I feel every little step I take is an accomplishment, so setting personal goals helps me grow and mature as an artist. I try to pay attention to the spirit within my paintings.
