“I am mostly self-taught. I have attended workshops, but much of my development has been through talking with other artists, critiquing, reading books, and painting. I have painted with acrylics since 1998, but now also paint with water-soluble oils.
I paint still-life, portrait, open-air, sports and activity scenes.”
Artist Statement
Painting can be compared to catch and release fishing: each stage involving an interpretation. I catch and interpret what I see, and the viewer interprets the released image. I consider a painting successful when I can feel the motion in the picture.
