The Right Moment by Chrissie Park-McNeil
Chrissie is a self-taught painter from Gillams, Newfoundland, a small community about a half hour’s bayside drive from Corner Brook. She came to Fredericton in August 1997, where she now lives with her husband, two children, and two cats (all reasonably well-behaved). Chrissie operates a day care in her home, and this allows her time to explore her creative side — at least, every now and then. She loves spending time with her family, trying and learning new things, creating unique hand-made cards, and otherwise stretching the bounds of her creativity.
Chrissie paints in acrylics, and frequently her subject is a landscape or seascape from the Island of Newfoundland, or some other Atlantic Canadian locale she has visited. She paints when she can, which is to say, not nearly often enough. Chrissie has always loved something about frogs, so she decided to paint a frog just lazing in the lilypads… perhaps waiting for the right moment to catch lunch.
