This 11×14 original painting in acrylics is by local artist Derek Davidson. “I paint still-life, portrait, open-air, en-place and sports scenes. A recent project has been to quickly paint sports images, and use this as practice for outdoor activity scenes with people moving quickly. I paint with acrylics and water-soluble oils.”
Artist Statement
Painting can be compared to catch and release fishing: each stage involving an interpretation. I catch and interpret what I see, and the viewer interprets the released image.
I consider a painting successful when I can feel the motion in the picture.
