Artists’ Corner at Winterfesthiver 2011 Raises $770 for Kids’ Skates

Winterfesthiver 2011

Winterfesthiver Fredericton, NB

What a beautiful weekend at Winterfesthiver 2011. Saturday weather was absolutely perfect, and even the snow on Sunday was beautiful (great for making snow people!). Isaac’s Way Restaurant was proud to be a part of this wintery celebration, and especially proud of the ten artists that warmed our tent with their heartfelt personalities, and coloured the space with their gorgeous portraits and paintings. We are pleased to report that your bids helped us raise $770 for children’s skates. Wow!

Why did we do this two day art fundraiser? These art auctions are, in fact, all about community. The artists that give their time, the restaurant that welcomes the people, the visitors that offer their bids, the music/dance/theatre/art instructors that are employed with our sponsorship, and of course, the biggest reason of all, the KIDS that accept our donations. It is this community spirit that unites us, as humans, and if you think about it, isn’t that what Winterfesthiver is all about? Community? Celebrating winter together?

Here are some great photos from the Artists’ Corner. Simply click on the 24 thumbnails below. You might recognize a few faces and possibly a painting that you won (or lost!).  Thank you for coming to our tent, and we hope you will visit Isaac’s Way Restaurant on Carleton Street. In case you haven’t heard, the food there is pretty good.
